Three Turn now available in Russian

Viverra Auceps has translated my 221b ice-skating ficlet, Three Turn, into Russian, which pleases me very much.  The title is now "Тройка", which sounds appropriate...

link to the Russian version is here:

Congratulations! It seems to be well-received.

Pedantically, I notice that it seems to be one word short.

thank you very much! *beams*

I didn't count the words - and I don't read Russian so couldn't recognize much apart from "Troika" and "Sherlock". but I could see that someone who commented was quoting the ending with approval, which is nice.

another Russian LJ-er is planning to translate Dressing the Part, so I look forward to seeing what happens with that.

My sister attempted to teach me Russian when I was seven (it wouldn't surprise me remotely if Mycroft tried it more successfully with Sherlock) and I went there a couple of times, so I retain a hazy grasp of some of the alphabet (and can sing the chorus of one popular song).

This didn't get me any further than the proper names, though, and noticing that she'd gone for transliterating John rather than making him Ivan.

spacefall once showed me some clips from a Russian TV version of Sherlock Holmes, which was really rather good. Particularly the bits after Reichenbach, where Watson sat around weeping buckets.

that does sound good! and I can quite imagine Mycroft teaching the young Sherlock Russian...

thank you! I was very excited about it too. there have also been Russian versions of et_cetera55's Told in Texts and drachenmina's 221b Unintentionally (I think), as well as blooms84's Climate Change.

Awesomely good!! I'm sure it'll make a lot of Russian-speaking fangirls happy just like the English version did us! *beams in reminiscence*
