snapshot 12.8.13

it's three years today since the first piece of fanfiction took me by surprise, appearing uninvited in my morning pages. that was (what turned out to be) the first chapter of Unpredictable, though I thought at the time it was just a one-off. since today is the 12th, it makes me stupidly happy that my current total of posted stories on AO3 is 144 - 12 x 12, otherwise known as one gross.

I am very glad that we met then, and that we met again. meeting amazing people through fandom has been an unexpected gift.

Happy anniversary! *throws confetti around* The stories that take us by surprise should be celebrated! :)

Crikey, congrats! Shouldn't there be, like, a statuette or something? (Though I'd favour a singing cos-played telegram myself.)

thank you! *grins*

I think the singing cos-played telegram must be stuck in traffic, but I am going to make myself a cocktail to celebrate...

Congratulations! Sorry this is so late, but summer holidays are here and so RL is crowding out fandom even more than usual. (But I saw some otters yesterday! I am allowed to go and visit zoos when I have a child in tow).

I'm so glad I've had the chance to read your work and then get to know you - you were the first writer who really showed me how it was possible to do something more with slash than pure entertainment, how it could be used for talking about gay history in revealing ways. Thanks in particular for your ideas about Lestrade, which I have shamelessly pilfered for many fics.
