a nice cup of Sherlock

visiting East Anglian cathedral city tearoom, discover they have 3 new teas on the menu:

13 Sherlock Holmes NEW - Earl Grey with Lapsang Souchong; our own mix: it's elementary & good
14 Doctor Watson NEW - Our blend of Keemun, Darjeeling & Lapsang Souchong;: good with food
15 Moriarty NEW - Black Chai with delicious spices: star anise, pepper, cinnamon, fennel etc

like the fact that they describe Doctor Watson as "good with food".

trio at next table discussing the BBC Sherlock.  man says Doctor Watson is "good if you like it strong" (he does).

a nice pot of Sherlock Holmes and this conversation in the background = a good accompaniment to writing fanfic.

waitress recommends the Moriarty.  takes all sorts.

what they DON'T yet have on the menu: OH CRUMPETS!

I was having to work hard not to giggle - though giggling in tearooms is more acceptable than giggling at crime scenes! but people still look at you a bit oddly if you do it when you're on your own...

That is excellent. What a great idea. They need to get crumpets on the menu pronto!

I did wonder if I should point it out to them but thought they might think I was mad. have to remind myself sometimes that not EVERYONE is a full-time member of the fandom...

My first thought, inevitably, is "What about Lestrade?"

But I've a nasty suspicion that they'll assign him PG Tips. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

another suggestion I clearly should have made to them. they don't have PG Tips (and probably wouldn't) but they already have an Ordinary and a Builders...

what /should/ Lestrade's tea be?

nice cup of Sherlock
Lestrade's tea should be something big and smoky, with a slightly salty aftertaste...

oh, this is the last thing I'm reading before going to bed and will not be able to stop grinning--will sleep with a giant smile on my face! toooooooooo wonderful!
should everyone send the tearoom a little note urging them to get those "oh crumpets" on the menu?!

Lestrade tea: something very spicy--and it would always burn your tongue!

Earl Grey and Lapsang Souchong! I would never have thought to blend the two, and I'm notorious for my odd blending choices. That's kind of brilliant <3

it is a strangely good combination - very suitable. look forward to hearing what you make of it if you attempt the blend yourself!

haven't tried the Dr Watson or the Moriarty yet but I'm sure they will be good as well.
